Our Favorite Spots
When we are not helping families navigate the world of Italian real estate, you can find us constantly exploring our own back yard, so to speak. We are always on the look out for the coolest new spots in town while also returning to our tried-and-true favorites around Campi Flegrei and Napoli. You can find some of our favorite spots listed below!
Where can I find the best gelato? What should I order?
My favorite gelato can be found at Frudisi in Fusaro. Some of my favorite flavors include fragola (strawberry), pistacchio, and kinder.
Where is the best pizza in Napoli??
This is a really hard one, since it’s almost impossible to get a bad pizza in Naples. If you are in the Campi Flegrei area my top favourites are Kuma65 in Fusaro and Ammaccamm in Pozzuoli. If you are in the Naples city center my favorite spot would be Starita for fried pizza (aka montanara) and Antica Pizzeria by Michele ai Tribunali.
Where is your favorite bar to get a pastry and coffee in the morning?
They don’t serve coffee, but the best pastries in Campi Flegrei can be found at my friend Antonio’s pasticceria (bakery) in Bacoli - Guantiera Pasticceria. You absolutely have to try the cornetti with raspberry. Antonio is the best pastry chef in town and has won numerous awards for his baked goods. Another great spot for coffee and breakfast in the morning is Poppy’s in Torregaveta and Oblio in Bacoli. Oblio is also a cocktail bar and a great spot to watch the soccer games with the locals.
I am craving adventure - where should I go just to get out of my house today?
Some of my favorite day trips around Campi Flegrei include taking the ferry over to Procida, exploring the ruins in Cuma and Baia, or hiking the Sentiero del Faro in Miseno. Another underrated spot to tour is Rione Terra the old town of Pozzuoli,
Where is your favorite restaurant in Campi Flegrei? What should I order when I go?
A family favorite is without a doubt “I Fortezza” in Monte di Procida. It’s a great spot to enjoy a delicious traditional Italian meal with breathtaking views. Nick the owner will make you feel at home. Portions are big and there is never a set menù (like many places near the water whatever the fishermen caught that day is what they are serving). I always recommend their “antipasti misti” as they change occurring to the season and the spaghetti alle vongole.
Another favorite in Bacoli is Tuna, a small restaurant by the water owned by two brothers. reservations are needed since seating is limited. Their Tuna Genovese is to die for.
Esperia and Abraxas are also two of my favourites spots, specialized in meat dishes, they both have amazing views, great food and wonderful staff.
La Taverna dei Sapori in Monte di Procida is also a family favorite: the owner, Mariella, speaks English and is a chef and sommelier. She organises wine parings and food tastings on the weekends and also gives cooking classes: a great way to keep family and friends occupied while visiting.
